Because you have to concentrate on working hard to provide for the family or studying well to finish school, you rarely take notice of the small details especially when it involves your body. This changes, though, when you start feeling something like a pain in your back and you suddenly get this interest about what has hit you.
And then you learn about your sciatic nerve, which when applied with pressure, results in sciatica.

If you did not know, sciatica has already been in existence since the ancient times. Before, it was even believed to be a product of black magic. The father of medicine, Hypocrates, also thought that only the rich people could be afflicted with sciatica. Another famous figure who had some relation with sciatica? William Shakespeare, no less, as he used sciatica in his play, Timon of Athens. Since times are now different, you have more access to information regarding sciatica like its symptoms and sciatica cure.

The manifestation of sciatica can vary depending on the location on the nerve where pressure is applied. The most common symptoms, however, are lower back pains, numbness of the lower limbs and pain in the lower limbs. You also get the feeling similar to being struck with pins or needles. This may also explain why people from the olden times thought that they were being punished by witches or other powerful black elements. The pain you feel from sciatica can definitely be stressful because it may hinder you from doing the activities you have always loved to do like basketball, helping in heavy household chores or rowing, or it may limit you from achieving your goals that you did not really find difficult to achieve back when you still did not have sciatica. You should not fret at these effects because there is also sciatica cure.

There are times when your condition will not need any sciatica cure. There are luckier individuals who are afflicted with sciatica whose condition will just vanish without the need of any medication of treatment. But not every one is as lucky as these people. One sciatica cure is just by resting. You know that because you have immense back and leg pains, that you cannot do the same things you did before, or at least do them exerting the same energy. You should not force the issue because this may only worsen your condition.

There are also drugs which may be sources of sciatica cure. Some examples are ibuprofen and codeine. You must take note, however, that the goals of these meds are to give you relief from the pain. They are not really the best solution if you want to tackle the problem and solve the whole thing.

Another sciatica cure is by going to physical therapists. This is considered as the most reliable sciatica cure by many, but you have to cooperate if you want to have yourself completely treated. A single session with the therapist is not enough. You will have to attend to several sessions which may take six weeks or more. While there are masseurs who can provide massages that will sooth the pain, therapists will be able to give you the more effective sciatica cure. They will administer activities and exercises to improve your condition and eradicate your “back-breaking” problem.
