People, especially women, say that a life of a woman is not complete without her experiencing the pains and joys of motherhood. They say that nothing compares to having a formed life in your body that you created, no matter how small or big the life is. Pregnancy is a delicate situation. This is why mothers and fathers see to it that they make use of measures to protect the baby inside the womb. But it cannot be helped that pregnancy takes its toll on mothers. There are several side effects of pregnancy like morning sickness or nausea, fatigue, sleepiness, fluid retention, cramps, constipation and fussiness in food choices.
Another common side effect on women is Sciatica During Pregnancy. Sciatica is a condition generated by what is considered as the longest and widest human body nerve. It is responsible for humans to feel the muscles in the legs and the feet. Sciatic pain is brought about by the inflammation of the sciatic nerves, which could go on to weaken or bring numbness to the legs.
Sciatica During Pregnancy is a condition women mostly experience during the nine months they are carrying their child or children in the womb. It, however, is not exactly a result of pregnancy. Pregnant women normally experience back pains from the pressure that the sciatic nerve receives. Since more pregnant women are in danger of having a slip disk, this may also explain why they are also more prone of suffering from sciatica. So it is not entirely true that their baby or babies are the ones exerting pressure to their sciatic nerves, as some pregnant women would like to believe.
So how do you distinguish Sciatica During Pregnancy for the ordinary back pain? You must observe your body if you feel the sensation like you are being struck with pins and needles in your lower limbs, numbness in the lower limbs, terrible lower back pain, and a burning sensation in the lower limbs.
Sciatica During Pregnancy can be very stressful because you are already carrying a heavy load in front and you are also experiencing pain in your back. The stress you get from this condition can affect your baby or babies inside your womb and may even complicate your childbirth. It should comfort you that Sciatica During Pregnancy can be treated. If you are lucky, your case of sciatica may not be as bad or as serious as the cases of the others. There are conditions when the pain will permanently disappear without you having to go to the doctor. If you are not as lucky, then you will have to go visit a physical therapist and undergo therapy for a certain period of time (this may take up to six weeks or more). You will have to do this regularly. There are exercises that you might have to do to bring you more comfort. You are hitting two birds in one stone as you do these exercises because they may also be able to help you go through a more relaxed childbirth. There are also certain massages that can alleviate the pain brought about by Sciatica During Pregnancy.
